Rices fire in Nevada County threatens 500 buildings

BRIDGEPORT — A wildfire that erupted in Northern California forced evacuations as it threatened about 500 residences and other properties Tuesday, authorities reported.

The Rices Fireplace erupted at about 2 p.m. in close proximity to the Yuba River in Nevada County and experienced unfold to much more than 500 acres (202 hectares) by dusk, mentioned Device Chief Brian Estes of the California Office of Forestry and Fire Protection.

The flames also threatened electrical power lines, h2o supply techniques and a point out park, Estes said.

The rural space is in the Sierra Nevada, northeast of Sacramento and about halfway involving the state Capitol and the Nevada border.

Authorities previously claimed the fire commenced with a burning developing and the flames unfold to close by dry vegetation.

A blaze that erupted Tuesday morning in San Luis Obispo County burned as a result of grass and brush. It threatened about 50 properties but no damage or injuries were being documented and the blaze was 25% contained, fire officials reported.

In Glenn County, a fireplace that charred more than 300 acres (121 hectares) was 65% contained.

Another fire close to Davis, west of Sacramento, was contained without the need of making destruction or accidents after burning 500 acres (202 hectares), authorities mentioned.
