Jon Netti is a new Australian label founded to build candles as good for the planet as they are for people.
Founder Alicia Bermingham put in months researching the most acceptable approaches and components for her items, arriving at unscented beeswax—a natural byproduct of the honey building process.
‘From the outset, I needed to craft handmade products and solutions that would boost day-to-day rituals, make atmospheres that have been secure for all, and present possibilities for further conversations and true rest to happen,’ Alicia suggests. ‘Beeswax displays these main values— nothing can be hurried with nature—and I’m so appreciative that we get to function with this medium.’
The newly-released label provides two tapered and a few freestanding items individually created by Alicia. ‘The 1st issue I do in the early morning is convert on our wax vats so that the wax can gently soften and turn into molten. This fills the studio with the most amazing refined honey scent,’ she claims.
The creation course of action of Jon Netti may differ by product or service, spanning time-honoured traditions of continuously hand dipping wick into molten wax, to hand pouring into tailor made moulds.
Jon Netti also crafts ceramic vessels by way of the approach of slip casting. All pieces are glazed and fired twice to vitrification, guaranteeing each individual vessel can be reused very long following the wax has been expended.
When lit, a Jon Netti candle emits a excellent movement indulging the senses of sight, scent, and contact. ‘I appreciate that a beeswax flame shares the same colour spectrum as daylight,’ suggests Alicia. ‘Its temper-altering heat provides so much ambiance to a place and is really transformative.’
Alicia hopes customers come to feel impressed to slow down and spoil them selves from the instant of receiving their Jon Netti piece. ‘I knew I wanted to make candles and I wished to be certain our wonderful shoppers obtained a full, immersive knowledge. This commences with their initial conversation with the model, suitable as a result of to the unboxing practical experience.’
